Imagined in 2018, and opened in 2021, Javier The Hungry Hippo, aka Tacopotamus, meets the demand for quick and fresh food for those on the go.

The food truck is a seasonal offering that supports locals and the tourist market.

Tacopotamus is conveniently situated behind Hillside Party Store East at E9825 County Road H58, Munising.

SECOND LOCATION NOW OPEN! In the Spring of 2023, Tacopotamus moved to the old Alley Cat’s property. We expanded the menu to include Northern, Southern, and Yooper style mexican fare. Within weeks, Javie has become a new town favorite; we’ve even been featured in Eater Detroit’s Best Places to eat in Northern Michigan.

In the Winter of 2023, Javie will be offering catering services featuring the same delicious offerings as the restaurant.
